Prescription for not forgetting the Quran
عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ سُبَيْعٍ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنَ الْبَقَرَةِ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ، لَمْ يَنْسَ الْقُرْآنَ: أَرْبَعُ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا، وَآيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ، وَآيَتَانِ بَعْدَهَا، وَثَلَاثٌ مِنْ آخِرِهَا
Hazrat Mughirah ibn Subay (R) a student of Hazrat Abdullah ibn Mas’ood t narrates: “Whoever recites these ten verses of Surah Baqarah before sleeping will not forget the Qur’an:
1) First 4 verses of Surah Baqarah 2) Ayatul Kursi & the 2 verses after it 3) Last 3 verses of Surah Baqarah” (Sunan Darimi & Shu’abul Iman)
Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "Whoever memorises the Qur'an and regards the lawful and prohibited as prescribed, shall be entered into Jannah by Allah." (Tirmizi)
Nabi (Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "The best among you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it." (Bukhari)
Hazrat Abdullah ibn Abbas t said: "Whoever recites the Qur’an (regularly) will not be mentally challenged in old age (with senility)." (Mustadrak Hakim)
