A: Udhiyah (Qurbani) is compulsory on one who has in his net-possession the equivalent of Nisab on any of the three days of Udhiyah i.e. 10th, 11th or 12th of Zul Hijjah. This is calculated by deducting one’s total debts from your total assets that are over and above one’s basic needs and necessities. Accordingly, if your debts are more than your assets, then Udhiyah is not compulsory.
